In this section you find all the information you need to enrol in the programme of your choice.

The IB curriculum requires acceptable numeracy skills as well as a good command of English. If you register for this programme, you are invited to an intake procedure, which includes a digital assessment and a personal interview.

Admission requirements International Business

All VWO & HAVO profiles with NT, NG and EM are accepted. All MBO-4 studies are also accepted. For the profile CM it is mandatory that the applicants have completed at least one of the following four modules: Mathematics A or B, Economics or M&O or Bedrijfseconomie. A good command of the English language is crucially important to be able to complete this programme.

Students with a relevant Dutch diploma (HAVO, VWO, 21+ or MBO4) do not need to take additional English tests. However, students with different qualifications will have to provide a result from an internationally recognized test of English.

  • IELTS: minimum score 6.0
  • TOEFL: minimum score 550 (213 computer-based, 80 internet-based)
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): minimum score Grade C scale 180-184
  • Cambridge First Certificate (FCE): minimum score Grade B scale 173 - 175 or Grade C scale 169 - 172

For Chinese students, it is obligatory to present an IELTS test result.

All other students may choose between IELTS and TOEFL.

You may be granted exemption from the English language test based on your diploma. Read more information about our language requirementsexternal link.

If you do not, or not yet, live in the Netherlands, you can enrol via Studielink, after creating a personal username and password. You can create your account on the Studielink website. Registration deadlines are 15 June (non-EU students) and 1 August (EU students).

Students living in the Netherlands - including non-Dutch nationals - can enrol as well as apply for student grants and loans via Studielink (in English, Dutch and German). For this, you need a DigiD log-in code, which takes up to five days to obtain. The closing date for registration on most programmes is 1 May.

All students living in the Netherlands applying for a full-time study programme not subject to selection must take part in an obligatory programme selection check. The programme selection check consists of an intake form and a matching day. Both are mandatory. Watch our information video externe link . Please note: For the purpose of the selection check, students living in the Netherlands Antilles (BES and CAS Islands) are considered foreign students. The information relevant to this group can be found below.

For students living outside of the Netherlands applying for a full-time study programme, only the digital intake part of the programme selection check is obligatory. You are welcome to take part in an online intake with the programme coordinator, but this is not mandatory.

All of the programmes at HU University of Applied Sciences are tested and approved by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO).
